Big brands sign up as official sponsors for WPL: H&M, Amul, World Gold Council are some of the major partners. 

After the immense success of the Men’s IPL, the BCCI is all set to revolutionize women’s cricket by introducing the Women’s Premier League 2023. Women’s Premier League 2023 has a total of 5 teams; Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians, Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz. 

Viacom18 Sports has acquired the global media rights for the digital and TV broadcast for WPL under the 5 year contract from 2023 till 2027. 

The title sponsor for WPL is TATA Group and will be sponsoring 5 seasons of the cricket tournament beginning from 2023. TATA Capital has roped the right chest spot for all the team jerseys. TATA Motors is another brand which will join the sponsors list. 

Noise, the lifestyle brand has partnered with Women’s IPL 2023 as an associate sponsor. Bank of Baroda has joined as an associate media sponsor and Hero Vida joins as co-powered sponsor. Some of the other key sponsors include MPL Striker, H&M, JSW Paints, World Gold Council and Apar Industries. 

The Official Fantasy Partner is Dream11 and CEAT Tyres joins as the Official Strategic Timeout Partner. Amul is the Official Beverage Partner and the Official Broadcaster for WPL 2023 is Sports 18.

JioCinema is the Official Digital Streaming Partner which has recently launched the first-ever marketing campaign of the league ‘Naam Hoga Tera Har Zubaan Par’. The ad campaign is celebrating the determination, grit and resilience of every girl who wants to break the norms through cricket. 

Meanwhile, BCCI has also unveiled its mascot ‘Shakti the Tiger’ for the Women’s Indian Premier League. Shakti was introduced in a short video.

WPL has also released the official anthem for the tournament ‘Yeh Toh Bas Shuruat Hai.’

Mumbai Indians

IndiaWin Sports Private Limited, subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited, owned by Mukesh Ambani won the bid to acquire the Mumbai franchise.

Royal Challengers Sports Private Limited, subsidiary of United Spirits, which owns RCB in the IPL led by director Prathmesh Mishra won the bid to acquire the Bengaluru franchise.

The year 2023 has been claimed as the year for sports, in fact the sports ad spends is expected to escalate to INR 10,000 Cr. Out of this INR 6,000 Cr is slated to be for IPL both men’s and women’s. Hence, with WPL 2023 now in action, brands are warming up with strategies and plans.
