Why Brands Should Advertise During the Champions Trophy – With Real Campaign Wins from 2025

The ICC Champions Trophy may be shorter in duration than the World Cup or IPL, but it delivers concentrated, high-intensity viewership—especially when India takes the field. Packed with blockbuster matches and knockout energy, the tournament offers brands a powerful opportunity to reach engaged cricket audiences across TV, OTT, and Connected TV platforms. With fewer matches and more spotlight per game, advertisers can integrate deeply into the viewer experience, ensuring high recall and sharp brand association. In the 2025 edition of the Champions Trophy, several brands partnered with The Media Ant to execute impactful campaigns that delivered both reach and results. Here’s how they performed.

Case Study 1: Delta Exchange – Massive National Reach with Contextual Creativity (2025)

Delta Exchange made a bold statement during the Champions Trophy 2025, positioning itself as India’s #1 Crypto F&O Exchange through a high-impact national campaign across Hotstar platforms.

With an investment of ₹4.9 crore, Delta Exchange activated a powerful mix of ad formats including L-Bands, Fence Takeovers, Branded Cards, and dynamic contextual creatives like “X Player on Screen,” “DRS,” and “Third Umpire.” The campaign ran across 15 live matches on Hotstar Handheld, Web, and CTV, integrating seamlessly into live cricket moments.

The results were remarkable. The campaign delivered 1.34 billion total impressions and reached 269 million+ unique users, covering over 67% of India’s digital cricket audience. Among the creatives, “Third Umpire” and “X Player on Screen” stood out as top performers, driving deep visual engagement. Fence Ads alone generated 377,000+ clicks, while daily CTRs peaked at 0.54%. A sharp spike in Google Trends search interest was observed right after the India vs New Zealand match on March 3rd, confirming strong brand lift and recall. By embedding itself directly into match-defining moments, Delta Exchange achieved one of the most effective digital branding campaigns of the tournament.

Case Study 2: Agilus Diagnostics – Regional TV Visibility with Value Uplift (2025)

Agilus Diagnostics extended its sports marketing strategy into the Champions Trophy 2025 with a focused TV campaign across the Star Sports network between February 22–24, 2025.

The campaign targeted both national and regional audiences, with ad insertions running across nine key channels, including Star Sports 1, Star Sports 1 HD, and regional language feeds in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. A total of 90 ad spots were planned, but the brand received 179 insertions—nearly double the planned inventory—leading to 1,790 seconds of total TV airtime.

By spreading across multiple languages and channels during a short but high-impact tournament window, Agilus achieved widespread visibility and ensured strong recall among India’s TV-viewing audience, particularly in Southern and Hindi-speaking regions. This high-frequency approach allowed Agilus to drive credibility and awareness at scale without the need for a prolonged media burst.

Case Study 3: Technocrats Institute – Regional Impact with 341% Delivery Spike (2025)

Technocrats Institute of Technology leveraged the India vs Pakistan match on February 23, 2025, to run a sharply focused campaign during the Champions Trophy 2025, aimed specifically at audiences in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

The campaign featured a 10-second mid-roll video ad on JioCinema, strategically placed during one of the most-watched matches of the tournament. The planned delivery was 933,333 impressions, but actual performance far exceeded expectations, with the campaign achieving 3.18 million impressions—a staggering 341.6% overdelivery.

The ad drove 771 clicks and reached over 2.7 million viewers, validating the campaign’s effectiveness in both scale and relevance. This regional digital push reinforced Technocrats’ presence in its key markets, demonstrating how localized campaigns during major cricketing moments can deliver outsized results without national-scale budgets.
