Ind Vs Pak

Cricket, especially when it involves a fascinating face-off like the India-Pakistan match, doesn’t merely remain a sport,  it transforms into a colossal event influencing not just the sports world but the advertising industry too. With the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 casting its shadows, brands are dynamically converging their campaigns with the event, making every ad second during the India-Pakistan match a precious asset.

Historically, India-Pakistan matches have always been the epicenter of not only a cricketing showdown but also an intense battle for ad spaces, with brands vying for the attention of millions of emotional enthusiasts. In the limelight now is the India-Pakistan match slated for October 14 in Ahmedabad, exhibiting a spectacular demand in advertising slots and establishing an ardent battleground far beyond the cricket field. Asking prices for ad slots are spiraling, potentially reaching up to a staggering Rs 60 lakh per 10 seconds.

Insider data reveals that approximately 85% of the ad inventory for the match is already secured. This rapid securing of ad spaces underlines the unprecedented demand for visibility during the event, pushing whatever remains into a high-stakes game where prices are anticipated to skyrocket.

The degree of ad inventories reveals a meticulous strategy that brands could utilize. Star, the broadcaster, offered versatile advertising bundles wherein brands could opt for various packages. These packages varied from evenly buying across all 48 matches to selecting a mixed bag of India and non-India matches.

However, buying slots exclusively for India matches wasn’t an option. The rates, depending on the bundle and match significance, oscillated between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 60 lakh per 10 seconds.

For brands aiming to strategically deploy their investments, options were available to invest in specific sets of matches, such as the entire journey of the Indian cricket team. An 11-match bundle, initially pegged at Rs 30 lakh per 10 seconds, underscored the premium attached to India’s potential progression through the tournament.

The booming ad slot sales exemplify how brands, irrespective of their niche, are synchronizing their campaigns with the World Cup. The fervor surrounding the India-Pakistan clash has metamorphosed it into not merely a cricket match but a premium platform where brands combat for the spotlight, ensuring every second of advertising morphs into a valuable commodity amidst the cricketing drama.
