Sony Pictures Networks India has bagged the exclusive rights to broadcast Asian Games 2022. The deal spans from November 2021 to September 2023 and it will give Sony Sports Network the exclusive rights to produce highlights and clips throughout the period. 

According to BARC, 2021 Q4 has recorded the highest advertising volume for a quarter since the year 2019. 2021 recorded 22% growth in advertising volume over 2020 & 18% over 2019. 

The ad volume of GEC witnessed a 50% spike in 2021 in comparison to 2017. According to TAM AdEx data, the advertising volume in the GEC genre recovered during July 21 and reached its highest on October 21. 

Colors Tamil has launched a special segment for kids in association with Nickelodeon. Golmaal Jr and Rudra as well as Boom Chik Chik Boom will be aired every Monday to Friday at 5 pm and 5:30 pm respectively. 

According to Dentsu’s Global Ad Spend Forecast report, India is expected to be the world’s fastest growing market in ad sends in 2022-  growing by 14.6%. Dentsu is also observing a decline in linear TV share of spend – both globally and in India – and an increase in Connected TV and Video on Demand (VOD).

Google’s tool Federated Learning of Cohorts (FLoC)- which was expected to replace third-party cookies, will be rolled out and replaced with a new Privacy Sandbox proposal called Topics API . According to BARC weekly data, the following were the top 5 paid TV channels in week 3 (15th January – 21st January 2022) – 

Paid– Sun TV, STAR Utsav, Star Maa, Star Plus, Sony SAB.
