Redirecting the naked domain helps the users land on the right page.
For example, if you host your website on https://www.xyz.com and the user tries to visit https://xyz.com, the User finds nothing.
https://xyz.com & https://www.xyz.com are not the same.
Only a few DNS providers offer this facility of redirection. Godaddy and Cloudflare are 2 among the list.
Let’s see how to set the redirection for xyz.com in Godaddy.
- Log in and go to the DNS Management section of your domain.
- Find out the “Forwarding” section at the bottom of the page and click on the “Add” button against DOMAIN.

- Under “Forward To” Choose your protocol (HTTPS if you have SSL, HTTP otherwise) and enter www.xyz.com as the URL.

- Leave the “Forward Type” as Permanent (301) and save the settings.
